A designer and illustrator currently residing in Portland, I have a love for typography and clean straightforward design. I strive to create meaningful things, whether it be a logo or landing page.
Graphic Design is not only a passion for me, but a vehicle that allows me to better the world around me. Design is problem solving, research, hard work, and innovation. I personally believe that if design was just about making something look pretty, I could easily leave the profession. Thankfully, designers are not just technicians, they are critical thinkers.
I am married to a wonderful woman named Grace, who is my best friend. Grace is a photographer, and if you like you can see some of her awesome work here. We both grew up in Wisconsin, braving the harsh winters and enjoying the down home cooking (especially brats. Grace grew up in Sheboygan, the world's "Brat Capitol"). It's a great state.
After we both finished college, we decided we would like to go on an adventure. In September of 2011, we sold or gave away lots of possessions and moved to Portland, OR. We moved without jobs, friends, family or place to stay in Portland, but with the anticipation of a new start and opportunity.
I'm currently accepting freelance work, and I'm looking for an agency in Portland to call my home. If I sound like a good fit, contact me and I'll get back to you as soon as I possibly can. I hope this finds you well.
-Ben
